SPUN TO RUN’s first offering comes midway through the second session when Potrero Stables offers Hip 323 out of Imprint. Hailing from the family of Grade 1 winners Heart of Darkness and India, the filly is the second out of her dam, whose first foal was a $285,000 2-year-old purchase herself before placing in her debut for Klaravich Stables.

Eight stakes winners are named on the page with seven other stakes performers among the 12 winners out of the four dams named on the page.

Coming just over 50 hips later is Hip 372, a March-born filly out of multiple winner Lady Acclamation.

Lady Acclamation is a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of Twenty Hawks and Epitome of a Lady with seven winners overall out of Perfectly Perfect. Epitome of a Lady is also the dam of the stakes winning Diamonds R, who won four races overall.

Perfectly Perfect is only one of multiple stakes producers on the page with the mare a half-sister to Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Above Perfection. Above Perfection is the dam of Kentucky Derby (G1) and Florida Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming and Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick. Hot Dixie Chick has produced Grade 1 winner Pauline’s Pearl and stakes winner Union Jackson among others.

Ricehorse Stables consigns Hip 406, a SPUN TO RUN colt out of Live To Dance whose first runner is a four-time winner.

Live to Dance is a half-sister to stakes placed Eighty Three and four other winners from six to race out of Life’s a Dance. That mare is a daughter of successful broodmare Dance Swiftly, who is a full sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Dance Smartly. Dance Swiftly herself produced Grade 3 winner Speightster and stakes winners Paiota Falls and West Coast Wing in addition to the stakes placed Freestyle. Life’s a Dance is one of four stakes producers out of Dance Swiftly with two producing stakes winners.

The colt is bred on a similar cross to Hard Spun’s Grade 3 winner Spun Glass and multiple graded stakes placed Ajourneytofreedom among eight winners from nine to race with the group all out of Unbridled’s Song granddaughters.

Hip 512 from the Silvestre Chavez Thoroughbreds consignment is a half-sister to the stakes winning North County and four other winners out of stakes winner Northern Netti.

Northern Netti is a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed French Wine and to the dam of multiple stakes placed Sal The Turtle. Each of the filly’s first three dams have produced stakes winners with those mares also earning blacktype themselves. There are seven stakes performers with three of those being stakes winners on the page.

Part of the Lothenbach Stables complete dispersal is Hip 577, consigned by Niall Brennan Stables.

The colt is out of Honor Code mare Quiet Talk, whose first foal was a multiple placed KARAKONTIE juvenile last year. Quiet Talk didn’t race but is a half-sister to 10 winners with her siblings including multiple stakes winner and multiple stakes placed Fordubai, stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Fast Alex, and the stakes placed Afford.

This page is full of stakes horses with those on the page including TAPWRIT’s stakes winner Victory Formation and Grade 1 winner Angel of Empire among 14 stakes winners. Joining them as those with blacktype are eight other stakes placers.

Hard Spun sons have sired 29 winners from 41 runners out of A.P. Indy granddaughters, including a stakes runner-up and two other stakes fourth place finishers. Hard Spun himself has sired two stakes winners and 10 stakes performers overall from 67 runners out of A.P. Indy granddaughters.

Hip 794 saw a big update in early February when his dam’s half-sister R Harper Rose won the Forward Gal (G3) at Gulfstream Park, nearly a year after selling at this same sale.

Consigned by Fabian Sales, the colt is the second foal out of the placed Summer Front mare U Needa Ride. U Needa Ride is a half-sister to four winners out of True Bliss, with her other runners including nine-time winner Lady Alexandra. A two-time winner herself, True Bliss is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Hierro and multiple stakes winner Cherokee Triangle among three stakes performers out of the Grade 3-placed Brief Bliss.

With the Under Tack sale now concluded, the OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale starts on Tuesday at 11am.
