Consign With the Best
Gainesway excels in the sales ring by focusing on select limited numbers and offering the highest quality horses. Each year we consign at Fasig-Tipton July, Fasig-Tipton Saratoga, Keeneland September, Fasig-Tipton October, Fasig-Tipton November, Keeneland November, and Keeneland January.
For 13 consecutive years, Gainesway has ranked among the top four consignors by gross sales. In 2022, Gainesway sold over $70 million worth of bloodstock, and our yearling sales led by average for consignors with 100 or more offered. Gainesway sold the most yearling for a million dollars or more in 2022 with seven, and was the only consignor to sell four at Keeneland September.
Last year, Gainesway sold three million dollar mares in November, averaging $216,271 among all broodmares, broodmare prospects, and racing/broodmare prospects at the Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland November sales.
Our Horses Sell
A hallmark of Gainesway’s sales program is our ability to sell horses. Every year since 2006 Gainesway has been a world leader by percentage of horses sold.
In 2023, we sold 86% of all horses offered (222 of 258). In 2022, we sold 86% (205 of 238). In 2021, 90%; in 2020, 90%; and in 2019, 88%. These numbers are even more remarkable considering on average, just 70% of all horses offered at public auction sell in the ring.
