Juveniles by Gainesway Sires On Offer at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

Next week’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale brings together established and new Gainesway stallions with ANCHOR DOWN’s impressive breezer at the Under Tack Sale continuing TAPIT’s  legacy as a sire-of-sires. The sale takes place on Monday and Tuesday, starting at 11 a.m. each day.

A leading sire of his generation by percentage of stakes horses and winners, ANCHOR DOWN’s second crop looks just as promising as his first after his lone offering breezed in :10.2 during the Under Tack Show.

Consigned by Sequel Bloodstock and bred by C. Kidder and N. Cole, ANCHOR DOWN’s  Hip 172 is a half-brother to multiple Grade 2-placed Majestic Quality and Grade 3-placed Diski Dance. Their dam She Nuit All is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Octave, multiple graded stakes winner Belle Cherie and two other stakes winners.

Three of She Nuit Good’s half-sister are stakes producers or the dams of stakes producers.

The late EMPIRE MAKER saw Hip 109 breeze in :10.0 as one of his six offerings at the sale.

Consigned by McKathan Bros, the filly out of Pontiana was a $125,000 yearling when sold by breeders Gainesway, Brian Graves, Neil Howard, Passerellos and Sheerwater. A half-sister to stakes placed Addibel Lightning, she is a granddaughter of multiple Grade 1 winner Shine Again. That mare is one of two graded stakes winners for Shiner, alongside Grade 2 winner Shiny Band with one of their half-sisters producing stakes winner Colony Club.

The first foal out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Palace goes through the ring as Hip 442 after breezing in :10.2. Out of Edith Court, the filly was a $200,000 short yearling at last year’s Keeneland January Sale and was bred by Chesapeake Equine and Manganaro Bloodstock.

Also under the Kings Equine-consigned filly’s second dam is stakes-placed Retriever. Her third dam is the Grade 2-placed Alarming Prospect who is the dam of Grade 2 winner French Party with that mare producing Grade 3 winner Genre.

A granddaughter of stakes winner Miss Hot Salsa, Hip 525 breezed in :10.2 for De Meric Sales during the Under Tack Show.

The February-born filly is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes placed Momos out of the Speightstown mare Inspeight Of Us. That mare is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and multiple Grade 1-placed Daddy’s Lil Darling, G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Mongolian Saturday, and stakes winner Victoryasecret.

There are stakes horses under every dam on this filly’s page with her third dam the Grade 3 winner Miss High Blade, who also produced stakes winner Mr. Broad Blade.

ANCHOR DOWN’s sire TAPIT  joined his son with an eye-catching juvenile when his filly out of Gomo breezed in :10.1 as Hip 492.

From the first crop of Uncle Mo, Gomo won the G1 Alcibiades with five top three finishes in eight starts. Highly regarded by breeder Bridlewood Farm, the filly was a $475,000 RNA at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale this year and is consigned by De Meric sales.

Gomo’s granddam is a half-sister to the dams of multiple graded stakes winner Mrs Kipling, Group 3 winner Tony Nicconi, and Group 3-placed Autobahn.

Also among TAPIT’s  offerings are a filly out of a granddaughter of Weekend Surprise as Hip 64 and a colt out of a granddaughter of Amelia as Hip 438. TAPIT’s  Hip 558’s dam is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Last Full Measure – the dam of TAPIT’s Grade 1 winner Valiance.
