TAPWRIT’s stakes placed Taylor’s Tap added a stakes victory to her record on Friday with a victory in the Acadiana Stakes.
Racing in last early in the six-furlong dirt race, Taylor’s Tap moved up around the turn but still had plenty of work to do moving into the stretch. A determined run had Taylor’s Tap closing with every stride and getting up just in time to win by a head with the third placed runner 1 ½ lengths back.
It was the third win in seven career starts for the filly, who has hit the board in five of those starts for over $105,000 in earnings.
Bred by Whisper Hill Farm, Taylor’s Tap is trained by Jayde Gelner for Mark Norman and Norman Stables with Norman buying her as a 2-year-old last year.
Taylor’s Tap’s dam finished fourth in a Grade 2 and is a three-quarter sister to the dam of stakes winner and multiple Grade 1 placed Shoplifted. The family also includes Grade 1 winners Miss Shop, Power Broker, and TAPIT’s Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1 placed Trappe Shot.
TAPWRIT is the sire of 20 winners with three stakes performers and two blacktype winners from 69 runners with 44 of his runners finishing in the top three in their careers.
