It was a new juvenile winner for TAPWRIT on Tuesday when Cardinal Farm homebred Balladry impressively won a Horseshoe Indianapolis Maiden Special Weight by 3 ¾ lengths.
Making her second career start in the 5 ½ furlong dirt race, Balladry went straight to the lead to control the pace with the rest of the field over a length behind. The filly drew off with every stride and had five lengths on the rest of the field with about a furlong left.
Urged just enough to stay focused in the late stages, she won by 3 ¾ lengths with the third placed runner 6 ¾ lengths behind.

The filly trained by Helen Pitts is a half-sister to the stakes placed duo of Curlin’s Gold and Railtown Girl. Their three-time winning dam Harlow Gold is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Sea of Tranquility.
This is the family of champion North Sider and Grade 1 winners Kalypso and Amadeus Wolf.
Balladry is the 27th winner of the year for TAPWRIT with three stakes winners among those horses.
