TAPWRIT Daughter Taylors Tap Dominant at Lone Star

Fourth worldwide winner for her freshman sire

TAPWRIT scored another debut winner on Saturday when Taylors Tap was 1 ¾ lengths the best at Lone Star Park.

Racing over 7 ½ furlongs on the turf, Taylors Tap raced in midpack two paths off the rail down the backstretch a few lengths behind the leader. Floyd Wethey moved the filly up as they made their way into the turn and she had the lead soon after.

While one filly was able to stick within two lengths of her, the rest of the field had no chance with the TAPWRIT daughter 9 ½ lengths in front of the third place finisher at the line. Bred by Whisper Hill Farm and raced by Mark Norman and Norman Stables, the Jayde Gelner trainee had showed promise in her five recorded works before this start.

Taylors Tap is the second winner out of Honorable Miss Handicap (G2) fourth Ultimate Shopper. That mare is out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Miss Shop, who produced TAPIT’s Tin Type Gal. Ultimate Shopper’s granddam is also the dam of TAPIT’s Trappe Shot among others with another of her progeny producing Grade 1 winner Power Broker.

A stakes winner at two and Grade 1 winner at three, TAPIT son TAPWRIT is the sire of four winners and three other placers from 12 runners so far worldwide.
