TAPWRIT daughter Stylish Style went a perfect two-for-two on Friday with a win in the Bob Bryant Stakes to follow up her debut victory.
Racing as a homebred for Poindexter Thoroughbreds, who has been joined in her racing ownership by trainer Lynn Chleborad and Prairie Gold Diggers, the filly was happy to race as one of the back markers in the six furlong dirt race.
Never too far behind the leaders, jockey Elvin Gonzalez allowed her to speed up when entering the turn and she was soon after the leader. Racing just behind that one with a quarter left to run, she initiated a duel in the stretch.
The leading Won Happy Mama wasn’t going to bow down to the eventual winner, and they battled all the way to the line with Stylish Style wining by three quarters of a length. It was all clear behind them with the third placed runner 7 ¼ lengths behind the duo at the line.
Stylish Style made her debut last month with an easy 4 ½ length victory after registering a bullet at Oaklawn Park in her final work.
Stylish Style is one of three winners from five to race out of Unique Style. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes winning Briartic Gold and Yano. Each of Unique Style’s first five dams have all produced at least one stakes performer with multiple daughters of the mares doing the same.
TAPWRIT is the sire of 55% winners with 77.54% of his runners placing in at least one race.
