Tapizar’s Mr. Crow eyes Grade 1 Vosburgh after second impressive win of Saratoga meet

3-year-old has recorded 109 & 104 Beyers in consecutive wins

Mr. Crow rattled off his second dominating victory of the Saratoga meet Aug. 30 when taking a seven-furlong allowance race by 6¼ lengths in 1:22.07. The performance earned a 104 Beyer Speed Figure (VIDEO).

In his previous Spa outing on July 22, Mr. Crow broke his maiden by 11½ lengths going six furlongs in 1:09.44 for a 109 Beyer, the highest figure recorded by any 3-year-old in 2017. The Tapizar colt also received “TDN Rising Star” status.

Daily Racing Form reports trainer Todd Pletcher is considering Mr. Crow for the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park on Sept. 30.

Mr. Crow was bred by Avalon Farms and Scott Swaim from the Harlan’s Holiday mare Black Chocolate. KRA Stud Farm paid $150,000 for Mr. Crow at the 2016 OBS March sale after the colt breezed a quarter-mile in :20 3/5.
