Tapizar filly hammers for $165K at Keeneland

Promising young sire’s progeny in demand

Tapizar, a top-three sire in several categories on the 2016 first-crop sire list, continues to show strong results during the Keeneland September yearling sale, with a filly bringing a winning bid of $165,000 during the Sept. 20 session.

Consigned by Gainesway, agent, Hip 2566 went to agent Liz Crow, representing BSW Bloodstock. The chestnut Kentucky-bred is out of the Tale of the Cat mare Missbelle O’s Tale and is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Morning Coffee.

Tapizar’s excellent first crop of runners includes Tip Tap Tapizar, winner of the Sapling S. and placed in the Saratoga Special (G2); Zartera, placed in the Sanford S. (G3); and nine maiden special weight winners.
