TAPIT notches his 42nd "TDN Rising Star"

2-year-old Thoughtfully wins on debut at Churchill

TAPIT earned his 42nd ‘TDN Rising Star’ Thursday, a number far above his peers on the General Sires list. An esteemed title and signature Thoroughbred Daily News product, TDN Rising Stars are identified as a race winner in the first few starts of his or her career who will, in their estimation, go on to be a Graded Stakes winner.

TAPIT‘s first 2-year-old starter of 2020, Thoughtfully made quite an impression in her debut at Churchill Downs. Pressing the pace early, she found the lead at the top of the stretch and continued to draw away to win by over eight lengths. Trained by Steve Asmussen for the Heider Family Stables, Thoughtfully was bred by our own Gainesway Farm out of the Seeking the Gold mare Pension. Also a Gainesway sales grad at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, she realized $950,000, purchased by Danato Lanni, agent for the Heider Family. She’s half to three blacktype horses including graded stakes winner Annual Report.
