A big weekend for TAPIT kicked off in style on Thursday when his Grade 3 winning Fort Bragg won the St. Matthews Overnight Stakes.
Making his second start of the year in the six-furlong dirt race, Fort Bragg stalked the leaders a few paths off the rail. Moving slightly closer around the turn, he made his move in the stretch and was ready to collar the leader at the furlong pole.
The closing stage of the race saw Fort Bragg build a margin to win by 1 ½ lengths.

Trained by Bob Baffert for SF Racing, Starlight Racing, Madaket Stables, Robert Masterson, Stonestreet Stables, Jay Schoenfarber, Waves Edge Capital, and Catherine Donovan, Fort Bragg scored his fifth career victory and 11th top three finish in 17 starts for $596,915 in earnings.
Also bred by co-owner SF Bloodstock and Henry Field Bloodstock, Fort Bragg was purchased for $700,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October sale in 2021. He is out of the stakes winning March X Press, who is one of two stakes winners out of the stakes-placed Indian Rush.
TAPIT has sired four stakes winners and five stakes performers in 2025, including Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Sandman.
