Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) victor SPUN TO RUN has seen his yearlings sell for up to $200,000 this season and buyers have 19 more chances to buy future runners from his first crop at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

The first through the ring by the stallion is Hip 1523, the first foal out of winning Tiznow mare Three Quarter Time.

Bred by Machmer Hall and Carrie and Craig Brogden, the filly is offered by her breeders. Her dam is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Moon Over Miami out of the Grade 3-placed Zinzay. Under the yearling’s fourth dam is the Grade 1 winning Mystic Guide and his Grade 1 winning dam Music Note in addition to multiple Grade 1 winner Musical Chimes.

Straight Line Equine Sales offers the Louisiana-bred Hip 2548 for breeder Coteau Grove Farms during the second week of the sale.

The colt out of multiple stakes winner Hello Maggie May is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Late September and the Grade 3-placed Malloy. Hello Maggie May is one of three stakes performers and two stakes winners out of the Canadian champion Fantasy Lake.

Fantasy Lake’s daughter South Bay Cove not only won multiple stakes but is also the dam of the multiple Group 3 winner Free Judgement. Five of Fantasy Lake’s daughters have produced stakes performers with many of those daughters also being granddams of stakes performers.

Hip 2843 from the Gainesway consignment is a three-quarter brother to the stakes winning She’s So Special. His dam Born Special is the dam of four winners from four to race with her unraced 2-year-old also working at Churchill Downs.

This Donaldson Stables-bred colt’s third dam is Miss Bold Appeal, the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Jersey Girl, who produced Grade 1 winner Jersey Town with one of the mare’s daughters producing 29 winner and stakes winner Our Caravan. Miss Bold Appeal is also the dam of Grade 3 winner St Petersburg and the granddam of stakes-placed No Need to Appeal.

Miss Bold Appeal returned to SPUN TO RUN the year this colt was born and produced a filly on April 14. The mare went to MCKINZIE in 2023.

TAPIT’s daughter Amalfi Queen is the dam of Hip 3235 from WynnStay Sales. Bred by Imagine, the filly is a granddaughter of the Grade 1 winning Lady of Fifty. Lady of Fifty’s Grade 3-placed dam K. D.’s Shady Lady is also the dam of the stakes winning trio of Bella Conchita, Lady Fifty Two, and Forestry Steel.

Amalfi Queen’s second foal is a filly by MCKINZIE born on April 26 of this year.

A half-sister to stakes winner North County sells with Four Star Sales as Hip 3485. Her multiple stakes winning dam Northern Netti is the dam of five winners from six to race with the mare’s 2-year-old selling for $110,000 at this sale last year.

Bred by CJ Thoroughbreds, the filly is a granddaughter of the 19-time winner Run With Netti – who also won three stakes races in her career. Run With Netti is also the dam of the multiple stakes placed French Wine and to the dam of 11-time winner and stakes-placed Sal The Turtle. The filly’s first three dams are all stakes performers with each of her first five dams producing stakes performers.

The final on offer at Keeneland September by SPUN TO RUN is Hip 4046, a colt offered by Vinery Sales. The Rebecca Farms-bred colt is out of the winning Infinite Hope, whose only foal to race is the two-time winning Brotherly Love. Infinite Hope is out of the stakes winning Shared Dreams, who produced stakes winner Brother O’Connell and stakes-placed Single Verse from her six winners from six to race.

Three of the colt’s four dams are stakes winners with third dam being the Grade 2 winner Coretta and fourth dam Free At Last a Grade 3 winner who produced four stakes performers. Free At Last’s siblings include the European Horse of the Year Barathea and Group 1 winner Gossamer.
