SPUN TO RUN Weanlings Make Debut at Saratoga Fall Sale

Trio from Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner's first crop

Three weanlings from the first crop of Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner SPUN TO RUN kick off their sire’s breeding stock sale season when selling on October 17 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale.

SPUN TO RUN’s first weanling enters the ring early on as Hip 15 from the RFHF Bloodstock consignment.

A half-brother to stakes-placed Drinking Again, this colt is out of the three-time winner Storm Swept and was bred by Hidden Lake Farm and Lance Simon. Storm Swept herself is a half sister to stakes winner Changing Weather and two other stakes performers. One of those stakes performers is a stakes producer as are two of Storm Swept’s non-stakes performing sisters.

Stuart Morris is agent for Boyd Browning Jr. when sending Hip 43 through the ring. The filly is a half-sister to two winners out of A Cut Ahead, who is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Bryan’s Jewel and the dam of stakes placed Amidships. The page also includes champion Left Bank, Grade 1 winner Lucifer’s Stone and eight other stakes winners.

SPUN TO RUN’s final through the ring is Hip 116 from Turning Point Bloodstock as agent. The colt is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Chasing Artie, who is their dam Frisky Kitten’s first foal. Frisky Kitten is a granddaughter of Canadian champion Chopinina, who also produced a stakes performer and herself is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Despite the Odds and stakes winner Karra Kul.

The one-day Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale kicks off at 10:00AM on October 17 in Saratoga Springs, New York as the first breeding stock sale of the season.
