Breeders’ Cup winner SPUN TO RUN is the sire of seven first crop Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale yearlings starting with Hip 57 during the first session of the sale.

That filly offered by Vinery Sales is the second foal out of Kitten On Call. Kitten On Call is a great-granddaughter of the champion racehorse Jewel Princess, who also produced stakes winner One Nice Cat and two other graded stakes performers. One of those runners is also the dam of Grade 1 winner Dancing Rags and Grade 2 winner Coup de Grace and the granddam of stakes winner Tiz a Macho Girl.

Jewel Princess produced three stakes producers overall, including the dam of Grade 3 winner El Caballo while another daughter is the dam of a Mexican champion.

 

 

SPUN TO RUN is also the sire of Hip 138 from the Greenfield Farms consignment. The filly is a half-sister to four winners from six to race out of a daughter of stakes winner and graded stakes placed Pia Bride. Pia Bride is one of four stakes winners and five stakes performers from the six runners out of Beaming Bride.

Beaming Bride’s other runners include three-time Grade 1 winner Alwuhush and Grade 1 winner Husband. Alphabet Soup daughters, like the dam of this filly, have produced six graded stakes winners, 24 stakes winners, and 53 stakes performers led by Grade 1 winner Ondina Dubai.

Hip 170 is the third foal to go through the ring. This colt consigned by Vinery Sales, agent is out of the winning Tapizar mare Saffron Girl, who is half to G3 winner Really Mr Greely. This is the family of Horse of the Year and influential sire Ghostzapper, as well as another successful sire in City Zip.

 

 

The fourth foal out of winner Lady Acclamation goes through the ring as Hip 497 from the Bill Murphy consignment. Lady Acclamation is a three-quarter sister to stakes winner Twenty Hawks and half-sister to stakes winner and stakes producer Epitome of a Lady. Their dam Perfectly Perfect is a half-sister to the Grade 3 winner and successful broodmare Above Perfection.

Above Perfection is the dam of Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming and Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick. Hot Dixie Chick herself produced the Grade 1 winner Pauline’s Pearl and stakes winner Union Jackson. Above Perfection’s third graded stakes winner is Grade 2 winner Positive Spirit.

Mulholland Springs is the consignor of Hip 658, a half-sister to stakes winner Classicstateofmind and Grade 3 placed Harlands Thunder. They are out of the stakes placed Stormandaprayer, who has produced six winners from six to race with her juvenile the stakes winning Storm Rate.

Stormandaprayer is a daughter of Grade 1 winner Storm Pick, who also produced stakes placed Dothraki and the dam of three stakes winners. Under the two dams listed on the filly’s page are five stakes winners and three other stakes performers overall with Storm Pick also a half-sister to a stakes winner.

The Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale starts on January 9 and runs through January 12 with each session starting at 10:00 a.m. ET.
