SPUN TO RUN Juveniles on Offer at OBS Spring

Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner SPUN TO RUN sees 10 of his first juveniles enter the ring at the OBS Spring 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale, starting with Hip 69 on Tuesday.

That Eddie Woods-consigned filly is out of the Grade 3-placed Gotachancetodance and bred by Equiventures East and Lara Run. Gotachancetodance is the dam of two winners from two to race and is one of 10 winners from 10 to race out of the multiple stakes winning Chance Dance. That mare’s 10 runners have combined for 31 wins, led by the seven-time winner Dance With Another.

Three of the dams on the page have produced at least one stakes performer, led by Grade 3 winner Grand Rapport.

A Stewart Morris-bred filly out of multiple Grade 2 winner Great Hot is sold as Hip 79 by Pick View.

Also Grade 1 placed, Great Hot is the dam of two winners from four to race including TAPIT’s three-time winner It’s Good to Be Us. Great Hot is a half-sister to the dam of the stakes winning Overath and three other winners. The filly’s page also includes Grade 1 winners Hennessy and Pearl City among the nine stakes winners and five other stakes performers with two of those stakes performers Grade 1 placed.

Great Hot had a RAGING BULL colt in 2023.

Breezing in :9.4 at the Under Tack Sale, Hip 625 sells with Grassroots Training & Sales during the third session.

The February-born filly is the first out of the stakes-placed Sierra Aleone, who was also an OBS graduate and won two races in her career. The filly’s family is full of blacktype with each dam named with racing age foals having at least one stakes performer and multiple daughters of those mares producing stakes winners as well.

The group is led by Canadian champion Portcullis and Grade 2 winner Part the Seas, with Part The Seas producing TAPIT’s multiple stakes winning Congruent and stakes winner Oceans Map.

The first foal out of two-time winner Three Quarter Time sells as Hip 780 with Julie Davies after selling for $130,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Bred by Machmer Hall and Carrie and Craig Brogden, this filly is out of a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Moon Over Miami. Her Grade 3-placed second dam Zinzay is the dam of five winners from six runners with 3-year-old son Tennessee adding another win to his record on February 10 and 5-year-old son Spin Wheel winning on March 2.

Each of Three Quarter Time’s first eight dams have produced at least one stakes winner with her third dam producing Grade 1 winners Music Note and Musical Chimes. Her fourth dam is the champion It’s In The Air, who is also the third dam of multiple Group 1 winner State of Rest. Grade 1 winners run in the family with Music Note herself producing Grade 1 winner Mystic Guide.

Three Quarter Time had a SPUN TO RUN colt last year.

A half-sister to two winners from two to race out of multiple stakes winner Bella Medaglia sells as Hip 985 as part of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment. Bred by Coteau Grove Farms, the filly was born in Louisiana.

Also Grade 3 placed, Bella Medaglia is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Duckhorn and multiple stakes-placed Harbor Kid. One of her half-sisters is also the dam of three stakes performers, led by multiple stakes winners Coastal Mission and Lewisfield.

The final SPUN TO RUN offering is Hip 1017, a filly out of multiple stakes performer Boreale.

Bred by John Stewart and Peter Bance, the juvenile is a three-quarter sister to Grade 3-placed Lady Beth from one to race out of their dam. Boreale is one of two stakes performers out of Arch mare Aurore alongside Orageuse. Under the filly’s third dam are multiple graded stakes winner Interactif and stakes winner Stretching with her daughters producing stakes winners Stillwater Cove and Unifying and Group 1-placed Cymric.

SPUN TO RUN has at least one offering in each session with the first of the four sessions starting on April 16 at 10:30am.
