A $1.2 million yearling himself, Belmont Stakes (G1) winner TAPWRIT sees his first yearlings go through the ring at this year’s summer yearling sales. One of the best bred sons of champion sire and sire-of-sires TAPIT, TAPWRIT’s classic-winning Beyer Speed Figure was the second highest of the past decade behind only American Pharoah.
Out of a Grade 1 winner in Appealing Zophie, TAPWRIT proved popular at last year’s November sales with 14 of his 18 first-crop weanlings on offer sold for nearly five-times his 2021 stud fee of $10,000.
Derek Mackenzie (Vinery Sales)
“We’ve sold 3 TAPWRIT weanlings at auction and I loved all 3. They all had plenty of leg, excellent length to their frames and were all athletic.”
George Issacs (Bridlewood Farm)
“We have four TAPWRIT yearlings here at Bridlewood, with a new colt just born. They all have good size, top lines, bone, and conformation. Now all they need to do is come out running!”
Alex Solis (Bloodstock Director – Gainesway)
“TAPWRIT is really stamping his yearlings. From what I’ve seen his offspring are all well-balanced and have great dispositions.”
Frances Relihan (Bloodstock Manager – Sumaya Farm)
“We have a very nice quality TAPWRIT filly, with great presence, balance, substance and movement. She has been one of the best physical foals on the farm from day one”
