RAGING BULL’s multiple Grade 3-placed Proletariat proved he’s come into his 3-year-old season better than ever when staying undefeated on the year with a runaway victory in the Oceanside Handicap at Del Mar.
Making his second start of the year after an easy victory in his return, Proletariat sprinted out of the gate in this one-mile turf race to immediately take the lead. He had a horse on his tail around the first turn but spent the backstretch building a lead with nearly five lengths leaving the backstretch.
The field attempted to close that lead and looked like they may for a moment, but when Kyle Frey asked him to speed away, Proletariat did just that. Frey didn’t have to do much to convince his mount to expand the lead even further with Proletariat winning by 5 ¾ lengths.
There was no catching Proletariat and @FreytheF who absolutely romp home in the @CaesarsSports Oceanside Handicap. 🏆 pic.twitter.com/wMcB9DH1MA

Never finishing worse than third in his six career starts, the Jeff Mullins’ trained Proletariat was third in both the Del Mar Juvenile Turf S. (G3) and Zuma Beach S. (G3) last year for owners Dutch Girl Holdings and Irving Ventures with three wins to his name.
A $200,000 2-year-old purchase last year, the Liberty Road Stables-bred Proletariat is out of stakes-placed Kodiac mare Kodiak West. That mare is also responsible for KARAKONTIE’s multiple Group 2 placed Sun Never Sets.
Each of his first five dams have either produced stakes horses or the dams of stakes horses with the page also including Group 2 winner Carrizo Creek.
RAGING BULL was a consistent racehorse throughout his four seasons on the track with placings in nine of his 15 Grade 1 starts including three victories.
