It’s another year of quality yearlings on offer from Gainesway with the consignment sending 43 quality yearlings to Book 1 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Always known for quality consignments, Gainesway’s yearling graduates prove to be racehorses year after year with 100 stakes winners cataloged in their Keeneland September consignments since 2010. That group has included 20 Grade 1 winners and some of the best horses seen on the track in recent times.

Just a few of the Gainesway graduates cataloged in this sale to run in the last five years include two-time champions Monomoy Girl and Covfefe, U.S. champion Jaywalk, European champion, Skitter Scatter, Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) winner Structor, and TAPIT’s Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Creator.

Never one to rest on its laurels, Gainesway gives buyers plenty of options in this draft with over half the yearlings out of stakes winners, including six Grade 1 winning mares and two champions. The mares weren’t only top racemares but are also successful broodmares with 21 of the yearlings out of mares who have produced at least one stakes winner.

When inspecting the Gainesway yearlings in Book 1, buyers will be looking at the siblings of 33 stakes winners, including eight Grade 1 winners and four champions. In all, the horses in the Gainesway consignment are siblings to nearly 40 stakes performers.

It comes as no surprise that the pages of the Gainesway yearlings offered on September 13th and 14th have seen updates in late 2020 and 2021, including one with a Grade 1 update only weeks before the sale.

That yearling is Hip 74, a TAPIT colt out of Modify. A two-time winner whose first foal is a winner, Modify is a half-sister to both multiple Grade 2-placed Sawyer’s Hill and to multiple graded stakes winner Yaupon, who impressed when taking home his first Grade 1 in the Forego S. (G1) on August 27.

Wesley Ward’s decision to debut Her World against males in the Tyro Stakes this month improved the page of her three-quarter brother, Hip 83. That colt out of Mundus Novus is already a half-brother to stakes winner and Group 1-placed Consort and to the dam of stakes winner Never Back Down with Her World now another stakes winner for their dam. Her World shows that the Scat Daddy line is a successful cross with Mundus Novus – that filly is out of Scat Daddy son Caravaggio.

TAPIT’s Hip 110 is out of Canadian champion Points Of Grace and that mare has already proved to be a strong producer as the dam of another champion in Grade 1 winner Victory To Victory with stakes placed 3-year-old daughter Double Blessed adding a second stakes placing to her name when third in the Hatoof Stakes in July.

TAPWRIT’s first yearlings include Hip 143 from the Gainesway consignment – a half-sister to last year’s impressive Princess Noor. The second runner out of Grade 3 winner Sheza Smoke Show, Princess Noor was a winner of the Del Mar Debutante (G1) and won three of her five starts to be one of the top 2-year-old fillies last fall.

The second day of Book 1 brings Hip 215, the first foal out of a multiple winning half-sister to this year’s Metropolitan Stakes (G1) winner Silver State. On the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail last year, Silver State has impressed in late 2020 and 2021 with six straight victories – including four stakes victories. Silver State proved again to be among the best of the older males this year when third in the Whitney Stakes (G1) at Saratoga in early August.

The two-session Book 1 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale starts at 1 p.m. ET daily on September 13 and 14. Gainesway’s Book 1 consignment is scheduled to start showing in Barn 2 on Friday, September 10.
