In what proved to be a huge day for MCKINZIE, Super Sailor was one of three winners for the stallion – with the other two winning Grade 1s – early in the day with a 6 ¼ length Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight victory.
Making his third career start in the seven-furlong dirt race, Super Sailor challenged for the lead early before taking up a job pressuring the front two runners when a few paths wide down the backstretch. Around the turn, he went head-to-head with the pacesetter and challenged that one into the stretch.
That colt gave in and jockey Leonel Reyes just showed Super Sailor the whip a few times when letting him gallop home by 6 ¼ lengths in his first dirt start.

Super Sailor is trained by Bobby Dibona for Wolf Park Racing, who has seen their runner finish in the top two in two of his three starts.
Bred in Kentucky by Tiffney Veloudis, the colt is out of the two-time winning Hard Spun mare Iwantthat. Iwantthat is one of eight winners for her own dam, who also produced the stakes placed Against the Tide and Napinowaan.
Super Sailor’s third dam is also the dam of dual Grade 1 winner Re Toss among others.
Super Sailor is the 12th winner for MCKINZIE, putting him fourth among all first crop sires.
