Hello Sunshine was winner number eight for SPUN TO RUN on Friday with a three-quarter length victory at Delaware Park.
The Anthony Pecoraro-trained juvenile raced just over a length behind the leaders for much of the race as they battled for command. Angled to the center of the track coming into the stretch, he was determined to join that battle and charged after the front runners.
It didn’t take long for Hello Sunshine to end their duel with a lead-grabbing run, with both starting to drop away in the final sixteenth. A late closing rally from another rival cut Hello Sunshine’s lead down to three quarters of a length at the end, but it was all that was needed to visit the winner’s circle.
Owned by Mike Silveri, the colt was bred by Jay Goodwin, Meredith Krupp, Deann Baer, and Cloyce Clark Jr.
Hello Sunshine is the second winner from two to race out of Live To Dance, who also produced five-time winner O Shaughesey. His third dam is the Danzig mare Dance Swiftly, who not only is a full sister to the great Dance Smartly and half-sister to Smart Strike, but also produced stakes performers of her own.
Dance Swiftly is the dam of Grade 3 winner Speightster, stakes winners West Coast Swift and Paiota Falls, and Grade 2-placed Freestyler. Four of her daughters also produced stakes performers with Paiota Falls’ two stakes winners including TAPIT’s stakes winner and Grade 2 fourth Rafting.
SPUN TO RUN’s first runners include the blacktype earning Midnight Humor and multiple open-length maiden victors.
