Equilibrio became SPUN TO RUN’s newest winner on Christmas Day with a 2 ½ length victory at Camarero.
The juvenile broke a step slow in the 5 ½ furlong dirt race but was quickly up to the leader to take up the job of keeping the pace honest. Racing just about a head behind the leader throughout, he took over in the stretch and was determined to hold his lead.
Equilibrio did just that as he rolled to a 2 ½ length victory with the third placed finisher six lengths behind.
Giovanni Merced trains the Erin Fisher-bred colt for Establo Florida. Equilibrio is the first runner out of the winning mare Saffron Girl, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Really Mr Greely. This is also the extended family of Horse of the Year Ghostzapper and Grade 1 winners City Zip and Du Jour.
SPUN TO RUN now has 15 winners, including the stakes placed Midnight Humor.
