DRAIN THE CLOCK Set to Shine Again at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

One of the most popular stallions of any generation at this year’s 2-year-old sales, DRAIN THE CLOCK is ready for the spotlight yet again with 16 going through the ring at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale on May 18 and 19.

Bred on the same cross as the stakes placed Disarmed – who is by DRAIN THE CLOCK’s sire Maclean’s Music – is Hip 21, offered by Little Farm Equine.

Bred by Gary and Cindy Falter, the filly is a half-sister to seven-time winner among two winners out of the stakes placed Absolute Crackers. That Irish-bred mare is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Pachattack, stakes winner La Mina, and Group 3 placed El Sagrado. Pachattack has also been a successful broodmare as the dam of a Group 3 winner and granddam of multiple stakes winners as well.

Oak Creek Thoroughbreds’ Hip 214 comes into the ring with an update after half-sister Pink Ruby won yet again in 2026.

That filly is one of five winners from seven to race out of winning Mineshaft mare Gemini R N. Gemini R N is also the granddam of the stakes winning Ancient Spirit.

Gemini R N is a full sister to the stakes placed Mine’s Claim and half-sister to Grade 2 winner Shaniko and stakes winning Silky Smooth among the seven other winners out of her stakes winning dam Sapphire N’ Silk. That mare is a half-sister to Silk N’ Sapphire, who produced Grade 1 winning Shared Account, Grade 2 winner Sparkle Blue, and stakes winner Colonial Flag.

Shared Account went on to produce Grade 1 winner Sharing and stakes winner Riley’s Choice.

The second foal out of three-time winning Blame mare Juluca sells as Hip 274 with Wavertree Stables.

This colt’s dam is a full sister to Grade 3 winner and stakes producer Daisy. After a career that included winning the Tempted S. (G3), Daisty went on to produce multiple stakes winner Botanical with her son Dive Bomber adding an update with a placing after winning four races. Juluca is also a half-sister to multiple stakes winner King Kumbalay and is out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Recording and stakes winner Smart Growth.

Recording has been a very successful broodmare with five stakes performers including three stakes winners led by Grade 2 winner Smart Bid with many of her daughters also producing stakes winners. Lovely Stay is one of four stake producers out of the Grade 2 winning Ratings.

A three-time winning full sister to dual stakes winner Star Moment is the dam of Hip 359 offered by Niall Brennan Stables.

This Oklahoma bred colt is the first foal out of Star Guitar mare Moment to Dream, whose stakes winning and multiple Grade 2-placed dam Moment of Majesty also produced Grade 3 winner Fools Gold. The names under Moment of Majesty have two updates with her 15-time winner taking his earnings to $288,209 and her 4-year-old son winning again this year.

Moment of Majesty is one of two stakes winners for her own dam Last Indy. That mare is a half-sister to eight winners out of the champion Fiji, who saw one of her daughters produce another Grade 1 winner in Evidencias.

Two of Hip 434’s siblings have provided her with recent updates before she goers through the ring with Grade One Investments on Tuesday.

A half-sister to six winners from six to race out of Quiet Inferno, this filly’s siblings are led by dual stakes winner Circle P and stakes winner Sir Rick. Her six-time winning half-sister Blazing Sky also placed this year while her four-time winning half-sister Serenade Me also has updated earnings for a very active page. Her siblings have proven to be very successful racehorses with 28 wins between five of them.

This Pennsylvania-bred filly sees every dam on the page producing at least one stakes performer with her second dam also a stakes winner. That mare, Launch a Double, is a full sister to Grade 3 winner Spotsgone and stakes winner Turn to Lass. Turn to Lass also produced the Grade 1-placed Portfolio Manager.
