Another winner for ANCHOR DOWN this week - Lionessofbrittany

Daughter of ANCHOR DOWN graduates in second start.

Another juvenile from ANCHOR DOWN’s first crop found the winner’s circle this week. In just her second start, the Steve Klesaris trainee found the winner’s circle at Gulfstream Park West. Owned in partnership by Steve Klesaris, Hibiscus Stables and Cre Run Enterprises, the daughter of ANCHOR DOWN was a gate-to-wire winner under jockey Edgard Zayas, while racing greenly and failing to switch leads down the lane. Nonetheless, she won more than two lengths to the good in the five furlong turf contest and stopped the clock in :57.32.

Bred in Florida by Farm III Enterprises, Lionessofbrittany is the first foal out of the Broken Vow mare Divine Vow. From an accomplished European family, Lionessofbrittany’s second dam was a stakes winner and runner-up in the San Clemente (G2). Plus her third dam Sil Sila was a Grade 1 winner in France. Purchased this year at the OBS Spring sale (which was held in June), she was secured by Hibiscus Stables for a bargain price of $25,000 after posting a 10 flat drill during the breeze show.

A son of sire of sires TAPIT, ANCHOR DOWN now has 5 winners in just 14 starters.
