God With Us Scores on Debut for SPUN TO RUN

God With Us was a debut winner for SPUN TO RUN on Sunday at Gulfstream Park by 1 ¼ lengths.

Starting his career at 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt, God With Us was happy to prompt the pace from an outside path when running in second. Making a serious bid going into the turn, he took a small lead halfway through that stage of the race and maintained that going into the stretch.

The colt showed some greenness in the final sixteenth, but raced away to a 1 ¼ length win for Team Blessing Stable and trainer Rafael Romero.

Sold by Gainesway on behalf of breeder Halcyon Farm as a weanling, God With Us had given a hint of his talent three works ago when registering a bullet.

This colt is a half-brother to the stakes placed Corinth and is one of two winners from two named foals out of a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed Shadow Sphinx. The colt’s third dam is the dam of Grade 1 winner Carriage Trail and stakes placed Forest Trail with KARAKONTIE stakes winner Xtina also on the page.

God With Us’s dam Megara foaled a DRAIN THE CLOCK colt this year. That colt is consigned as Hip 1923 at this year’s Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale with Highgate Sales
