TAPWRIT’s stakes placed Taylors Tap added a second victory to her resume on Saturday with a Fair Grounds Allowance Optional Claiming win going six furlongs.
Racing in nearly last early on, TAPWRIT’s daughter didn’t make a serious challenge until the turn and she was in third by the time the field turned into the stretch. She had to alter her course to go to the outside of the dueling duo in front of her in the final furlong and dug deep to put her neck in front of them at the line with everyone but those two over four lengths behind the winner.
Trained by Jayde Geiner, she is owned by Mark Norman and Norman Stables.
The Whisper Hill Farm-bred filly is out of three-time winner Ultimate Shopper, who finished fourth in a Grade 2 during her race career. Taylors Tap’s third dam is Shopping, the dam of Grade 1 winner Miss Shop and granddam of Grade 1 winner Power Broker.
TAPWRIT ranks among the top five second crop sires this year by both winners and earnings, that group including the stakes winning Kentucky Derby contender Victory Formation.
