It was a debut to remember for MCKINZIE’s Z Z’s on Saturday when the juvenile filly won by an easy five lengths in an Ellis Park Maiden Special Weight.
Registering multiple impressive works, the filly started her career going 5 ½ furlongs on the turf and had the race well in hand from the start. Racing on the rail, she controlled the pace and kept an easy lead throughout the middle stages before Tyler Gaffalione let her roll.
Under mild urging, Z Z’s pulled away to her five length victory as the second impressive juvenile winner in three days for MCKINZIE.

Trained by Brendan Walsh for Gainesway and Andrew Rosen, the Willow Oaks Stable-bred Z Z’s is one of two winners from three to race out of Zarmant.
Unraced herself, Zarmant is a daughter of dual Grade 1 winner Tout Charmant, who produced TAPIT’s Grade 2 winner Dancing House and two other stakes performers. Tout Charmant’s daughters are the dams and granddams of eight different stakes performers.
MCKINZIE has sired four juvenile winners from his second crop, 10th best of all North American sires and tied with Into Mischief and Gun Runner among others.
