Triple Grade 1 winner RAGING BULL Represented by Five Mares at Keeneland January

Five mares carrying foals from the first crop of three-time Grade 1 winner RAGING BULL make up the stallion’s offerings at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

His first through the ring is Hip 186 from Buckland Sales, the Elusive Quality mare Showcase Winner. A five-time winner herself, Showcase Winner is one of four winners from four to race out of the Storm Cat mare Showcase. Showcase is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Tactical Cat and Grade 2 placed Storm Passage and a half-sister to the dams of multiple stakes winner Susie Bee and stakes placed Take Ten.

RAGING BULL’s sire Dark Angel has six runners out of Elusive Quality mares with five of them winning, led by the stakes winning Musetta.

Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services is the consignor of Hip 291, the stakes placed Amabilis. Carrying her third foal, Amabilis is one of three winners out of the stakes placed Pure Joy. Pure Joy herself is one of four stakes performers out of the stakes winning Posteritas, who also produced Grade 1 winner Mutual Trust among her eight winners.

All three dams on Amabilis’s page have produced stakes performers with one of her third dam’s daughters also producing Grade 1 winner Antonoe.

Hip 319 consigned by Hartwell Farm is Grade 1 producer Boat’s Ghost. The stakes placed Silver Ghost mare produced Grade 1 winner Finnegans Wake as her first foal and the stakes winner and Grade 2 placed Puca as her third. In all, Boat’s Ghost is the dam of five winners from six to race with her son Mozu Platina winning his sixth career race recently.

Boat’s Ghost isn’t a one-off for her family with five of her six dams producing stakes winners and that non-stakes producing mare a multiple stakes winner who is the third dam of multiple stakes winners.

Gainesway-offered Pangaea Proxima goes through the ring as Hip 990, carrying her first foal by RAGING BULL. By Dynaformer son Temple City, Pangaea Proxima is a half-sister to Grade 3 winners A Thread of Blue and Norman Invader and stakes placed Galvanize in addition to being a three-quarter sister to Grade 3 placed Ea.

Multiple half-sisters are also stakes producers with one producing stakes winner Energizer and graded stakes producer Examinee and another mare producing stakes winner Goldberry.

Taylor Made Sales offered Crushed Velvet has already earned an update since the catalog was released with Hip 1162 seeing her 4-year-old son Buffalo Shuffle earning another win. Crushed Velvet was a Grade 2 placed runner herself in addition to being the dam of three winners from four to race with her own dam producing four winners from five runners.

Crushed Velvet’s dam Meadow Soprano is a half-sister to champion Midnight Lute and three other stakes performers in addition to being the dam of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Bound For Nowhere.

The Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale starts on January 9 and runs through January 12 with each session starting at 10:00 a.m. ET.
