Three Millionaires Lead Gainesway Results at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga

It was another successful sale for the Gainesway consignment at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga this year with three seven figure yearlings and 11 of the 17 sold bringing $500,000 or more with all 17 offered finding new owners.

Gainesway was the consignor of the second most expensive yearling of the sale when Resolute Bloodstock went to $3 million to purchase a colt from the Stonestreet breeding program. The Into Mischief colt out of Lady Kate, whose first foal sold for $850,000 last year.

A stakes winner, Grade 1-placed Lady Kate is one of four stakes performers out of the multiple stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Princess Haya. That mare also produced the Grade 2-placed duo of Prince of Arabia and Bernard Shaw and Grade 3-placed Princess Theorem among the five winners from five to race.

This is a strong page that looks to get even better with 21 stakes performers under the dams on the colt’s page. Lady Kate visited Gainesway this year when bred to MCKINZE for 2026.

Erdenheim Farm purchased the Whisper Hill Farm-bred Gun Runner filly out of Shedaresthedevil for $1.475 million – the second highest price for a filly at the sale.

This is the first foal out of that superstar Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner. Shedaresthedevil won 10 of her starts for $2,777,458 in earnings with three Grade 1 wins. In all, the Daredevil mare placed in the top three in 19 of her 21 starts before selling for $5 million to Mandy Pope at the end of her career.

This filly has plenty of broodmare value after her time on the track with stakes performers named under each of her three dams with racing aged foals on the page. Shedaresthedevil herself is a half-sister to the Grade 3-placed duo of Mojovation and Star of Wonder.

The dam of dual Grade 1 winner MUTH hit another home run on Tuesday night when her Good Magic colt sold to Grandview Equine and LNJ Foxwoods for $1 million.

MUTH Is one of two winners from two to race for the winning Hoppa, whose other winner is the stakes placed Claire’s Charm. This is a stacked page with the Don Alberto-bred colt’s fourth dam being the successful broodmare Beautiful Bedouin.

Beautiful Bedouin produced Grade 2 winner Wandering Star, who is a full sister to the colt’s third dam Frayne. Frayne is the dam of stakes placed March to Victory.

Wandering Star produced Grade 1 winner War Command and Grade 3 winner Naval Officer with one of the mare’s daughters also producing Grade 1 winner Hit The Road. Another one of Frayne’s sisters is the dam of champion and Grade 1 winner Rollout The Carpet and a third is the granddam of Demanding Lady, who produced Grade 1 winner and three-time champion Charles Dickens.

Gainesway also saw its offerings sell for $875,000, $775,000, $775,000, $750,000, etc., with an average of $755,000 and median of $575,000. Gainesway was the leading consignor by gross on the second day and second overall with a gross of $12.835 million with the number one seller having nearly twice the amount of horses.

Gainesway will again be found in Saratoga this weekend with six on offer at the New York-Bred Sale, including multiple half-siblings to stakes runners.
