Project Whiskey became TAPIZAR‘s sixth graded stakes winner Saturday after a score in the Delaware Oaks (G3) at Delaware Park. The Robert Reid, Jr. trainee turned out a gutsy performance, battling with Grade 2 performer Dream Marie down the length of the stretch to prevail by a half length at the wire. The 3-year-old daughter of TAPIZAR now has over $260,000 in earning for owners Cash is King and LC Racing.
Project Whiskey was a stakes winner as a juvenile and the Delaware Oaks (G3) was only her second start of 2020. A Kentucky Oaks (G1) prep for the first time this year, Project Whiskey has earned 50 points and now qualifies for that contest in September.
“We are not sure where we are going to go next with her, but I am sure it will probably have the word ‘Oaks’ behind it,” Reid said, via BloodHorse.
Project Whiskey was bred in Maryland by Dark Hallow Farm. She is out of the Malibu Moon mare Over the Moon who is half to graded stakes-winning sire Ready’s Image.
