Paul Braverman and Timothy Pinch’s 2-year-old Tapizar colt Solidify circled the field to capture the Oct. 21 Grey Stakes (G3), the card’s featured stakes event over 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Woodbine.
Trained by Reade Baker and ridden by Emma-Jayne Wilson, Solidify was content to trail the field early but rallied four-wide around the far turn to take command and prove best at the wire. It was the second victory in as many starts for the juvenile, who won his Sept. 23 debut in a Woodbine maiden special weight over 6½ furlongs.
Bred in Kentucky by China Horse Club from the Cherokee Run mare Elaborate, Solidify is a full-brother to last year’s Grey runner-up Peppered, who is also campaigned by Braverman and Pinch.
