Racing at the track that runs a stakes in her sire’s honor, TAPIT’s May Day Ready became her sire’s newest stakes winner on Sunday with a victory in the $1 million Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies.
Making her second start after breaking her maiden on debut at Saratoga, May Day Ready broke well and raced close behind the leader early in the one-mile race. May Day Ready was in the middle of the pack behind the leaders coming around the turn with Frankie Dettori piloting her to the outside for clear room in the stretch.
The move paid off with a furlong left to run as she started making a serious run for the win. In the final sixteenth, she proved she was much the best with a 1 ¾ length margin at the line.

Bred by White Birch Farm out of Nemoralia, the filly was a $325,000 2-year-old purchase by racing owner KatieRich Stables and is trained by Joseph Lee.
Her dam was a Group 3 winner who was also Grade 1 placed in three different countries and is now the dam of two winners from two to race. Nemoralia’s dam is the multiple stakes winning Alina, who produced seven winners from eight to race.
May Day Ready is one of two juvenile stakes performers this year for TAPIT and one of seven stakes winners for the stallion overall in 2024.
