A Gainesway-bred and offered filly out of She’s Delightful brought $775,000 for TAPIT at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale.
The filly was purchased by Live Oak Plantation and is a full sister to TAPIT’s winning Golden Plate. A three-time winner, She’s Delightful is out of the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Chimichurri, who has been a very successful broodmare.
The mare is the dam of Grade 3-placed Surprise Boss but is also the granddam of Canadian Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot and Grade 1 winners Hard Not to Love and Secret Spice. This page had nine stakes performers in all under Chimichurr’s namei.
She’s Delightful has a 2025 filly by TAPIT and went back to the stallion this year.
Just this year, TAPIT mares have produced 22 stakes winners, led by Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Hit Show, so it’s no surprise a yearling out of one of his daughters topped the sale. That colt was a $4.1 million purchase by Coolmore and White Birch Farm from the Hill ‘n’ Dale consignment on behalf of Don Alberto.
This Into Mischief yearling is the first foal out of TAPIT’s multiple graded stakes placed Stellar Sound, whose placings were led by a third in the Las Virgenes S. (G2). Stellar Sound is a half-sister to stakes winner Smart As Me and Grade 1-placed Luminance with her dam Siren’s Serenade out of the successful racemare Versailles Treaty.
A four-time Grade 1 winner, Versailles Treaty is also the dam of Grade 1 winner George Washington and Grade 2 winner Saarland with her daughters and granddaughters continuing the winning tradition, led by Grade 1 winner Mongolian Groom.
In all, TAPIT daughters produced four of the million-dollar yearlings at this sale, including the third most expensive.
That Gun Runner colt offered by Four Star Sales was purchased by Donato Lanni on behalf of Zedan Racing for $2.9 million and is out of TAPIT’s stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Princesa Carolina, who is already the dam of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Muhimma.
The others out of TAPIT mares brought $1.1 million and $1 million with the eight sold out of his daughters averaging $1,328,125.
