It was a second straight stakes victory for TAPIT’s Dataman on Saturday when he followed up his Henry S. Clark victory with a win in the Cliff Hanger Stakes.
Dataman was happy to sit in last place for the first half of the 1 1/16 mile turf race when sitting around four lengths behind the leader. As the field moved into the far turn, Dataman started his journey closer to the leaders and was in perfect striking position by the quarter pole.
It was at that point that the gelding started kicking into gear. He charged to the front inside the final furlong and pulled away to win by a length in the end.
