TAPIT registered another TDN ‘Rising Star’ on Saturday when $1.3 million yearling Tapit Trice romped to an easy eight length victory in a Gulfstream Park Allowance Optional Claimer.
Breaking a step slowly, the colt had to work his way through the field in the one mile dirt race but soon found himself close to the pace down the backstretch. He had the lead at the quarter pole and though another horse stuck with him for the next furlong, he put that one away to win his second straight after a maiden victory in December.

Trained by Todd Pletcher for co-owner and breeder Whisper Hill Farm, the colt is also raced in partnership with Gainesway, who consigned him when he sold for $1.3 million at Keeneland September in 2021.
He is out of the stakes winning Danzatrice, a half-sister to the champion Jaywalk and 10 time winner Nice Guys Finish. Danzatrice had a TAPIT filly in 2021 and another filly by the sire last year.
