Gainesway’s legendary sire Tapit has reached a new milestone in his stallion career, surpassing the $150 million mark in progeny earnings.
The new landmark was achieved after Tapit’s Lake Avenue and Maedean ran first and second in the $250,000 Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes for two-year-old fillies at Aqueduct. Ranked number three on the North American sire list, progeny of Tapit have earned over $13 million this year.
With 7 champions, and over 125 blacktype winners from 12 crops, Tapit has cemented his status as an all-time leading sire. Crowned America’s Champion Sire in 2014, 2015, and 2016, Tapit is responsible for 28 yearlings to bring over $1 million or more at auction.
Tapit stands at Gainesway for $200,000.
