Select Group of Weanlings on Offer for TAPIT TRICE at Keeneland

It’s a strong group of TAPIT TRICE offerings at this year’s Keeneland November Sale with nine set to go through the ring during the sale.

TAPIT TRICE is starting on a high note with the Grade 1 winning Lighthouse Bay the dam of Hip 1349 offered by Lane’s End.

As a broodmare, Lighthouse Bay has produced four winners from five to race, including nine-time winner Easy Fact, TAPIT’s six-time winner Lighthawk, and four-time winner Ecoro Eight. Lighthouse Bay is one of two stakes performers from six winners out of her own dam with Pay Lady also producing Tammy Tap Tap Tap and seven-time winner Dark Hedges among her others.

The second foal out of the stakes winning Misty Mauve sells as Hip 1807 with Gainesway on behalf of Whisper Hill Farm.

Misty Mauve’s first foal from the first crop of Up to the Mark sold for $200,000 in January to show the mare has plenty of commercial promise. The Paynter mare is one of five winners out of Grade 3 winner Ticket to Seattle, who was a dam of runners with her others including 15-time winner Midnight Las Vegas and eight-time winner Malraux.

Ticket to Seattle is a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Tizway and out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winners Will’s Way and Willa On The Move.

Eight stakes performers are listed under the first three dams of Hip 1857 offered by Burleson Farms.

The closest of those stakes performers is the February-born filly’s three-time stakes winner Oliviaofthedesert, who leads the four winners from four to race out of the stakes placed Queeie’s Song. Queenie’s Song is one of five stakes performers out of the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Queen of the Money. A successful Corporate Report mare, Queen of Money’s runners are led by multiple stakes winner Quiet Cash and stakes winner Pocketfullofpesos with one of her non-stakes horses producing the stakes winning Spankie Fischbein.

Hip 2499 offered by Taylor Made Sales is out of the stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Daring Reality.

Successful on the track, Daring Reality has also proven to be a productive broodmare with five winners from seven to race including six-time winner American Reality and five-time winner Saint Mihiel. Daring Reality is one of three stakes performers out of the stakes placed Miz Emmalou with that mare also producing the stakes placed duo of Scooter Bird and Timely Impulse.

This extended family includes Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Ski Dancer and multiple Grade 3 winner Southern Tradition.

TAPIT TRICE’s final weanling through the ring is Hip 2650 offered by Gainesway on behalf of Whisper Hill Farm.

This March 7 foaled colt is the first foal out of the Ghostzapper mare Mary Jane’s Veil, who was purchased by her owner for $140,000 in 2024.

Mary Jane’s Veil is out of the winning Thin Disguise, whose eight winners include the Grade 3 winner Holiday Disguise and stakes winner Midnight Disguise. She is also the dam of Grade 1-placed Forest Caraway, nine-time winner Watergate and eight-time winner American Creed with one of her unraced daughters producing the stakes placed Clever Mischief.

Thin Disguise is one of three stakes performers out of her own dam with the group led by Grade 3 winner Naughty New Yorker and Grade 2-placed Pupil.
