SEIZE THE GREY Represented By Six In-Foal Mares at Keeneland January

An exciting year for SEIZE THE GREY starts at the Keeneland January of All Ages Sale when six mares carrying his first foals go through the ring during the two-day sale.

A mare offered by Gainesway kicks off the proceedings when TAPIT daughter Annulled sells as Hip 9.

That mare hails from an exciting family as a full sister to Grade 2 winner My Miss Tap and the Grade 3 placed duo of I’ll Wrap It Up and Rattataptap. Rattataptap has also proven herself as the dam of Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Double Thunder as well. Her dam Sindy With an S is a Grade 3 winning half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Indian Winter and the stakes placed Five Star Holding, who also produced a stakes performer of her own.

Racing twice in 2025 and placed in both starts, Annulled is carrying her first foal with this cover.

Out of a half-sister to the graded stakes winner and successful sire Exchange Rate comes Hip 29.

Offered by Greenfield Farms, Bashful was a winner on the track as one of eight winners from 10 to race out of winning Deputy Minister mare Chief Secretary. That mare’s best runner was stakes winner and graded stakes placed Left a Message with most of her other foals having multiple wins as well. Chief Secretary is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Sabre d’Argent and graded stakes placed Cable as well as Exchange Rate.

Bashful is the dam of two runners from two of racing age with both placing on the track. She’s carrying a foal by SEIZE THE GREY on a March 23 cover.

Bluewater Sales offers the Harlan’s Holiday mare Bay Finn as Hip 30.

The mare has already proven to be a strong producer with four of her five winning and her fifth placed last year. Her best runner is the multiple stakes winning Orb Ruler, with that second foal winning 13 times overall. Bay Finn is an 11th generation stakes producer with nine of the mares producing stakes winners. Her own dam produced four stakes performers with Bay Finn placing in a stakes at two as one of those with the runners led by the stakes winning duo of Simmstown and Toccet’s Charm.

Resolute Racing’s Dazzlingdominika goes through the ring as Hip 112 with ELiTE carrying her first foal on a March 15 cover.

Dazzlingdominika was a successful runner on the track as a Grade 2 placed mare at two as the latest successful runner in her family. A half-sister to a four-time winner, Dazzlingdominika’s dam is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Heir Kitty and out of the stakes placed Be Silver. That mare is one of three stakes performers out of the winning Beafleet, whose daughters have also produced Grade 1 winner Super Stock and Grade 1-placed Boujie Girl.

The foal Dazzlingdominika is carrying is bred on the same Arrogate x Ghostzapper cross as stakes winner Artorius and stakes placed Phantom Speed from three runners.

A four-time winner, Psyche goes through the ring as Hip 356 with Terrazas Thoroughbreds carrying a foal on a March 4th cover.

The dam of one foal, Psyche is a half-sister to the stakes winning Firsthand Report, who produced multiple stakes winner and Grade 1-placed E J Won The Cup and the stakes winning Somebody’s Problem. In all, Psyche is one of five winners from seven to race out of the stakes placed Kinsey, who is one of four stakes performers out of her own dam. Kinsey’s siblings include her Grade 3 winning full brother Electrify, the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Rothko, and stakes winner Cream Only. Each of Psyche’s first six dams have produced stakes winners with three producing multiple stakes horses.

Chubby Star will be the final mare in-foal to SEIZE THE GREY to sell here when she goes through the ring as Hip 632 with Nardelli Sales.

A stakes placed runner, Chubby Star is the dam of three placed runners from four to race with all three placing in 2025, led by a two-time winner. The mare is a half-sister to the multiple graded stakes winner Blamed with the pair two of six winners out of the stakes placed Salsa Star. This is the extended family of champion Rhythm, Grade 1 winner Frost Giant, and the Grade 3 winner and successful broodmare Get Lucky with each of Chubby Star’s first nine dams producing at least one stakes performer.

The Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale kicks off on January 12 with both of its sessions taking place at 10am.
