Raging Bull Yearlings Set For Keeneland September

Twenty RAGING BULL yearlings are ready to hit the Keeneland September sales ring in coming weeks as buyers look to secure horses from the three-time Grade 1 winner’s first crop.

The first on offer by the stallion is Hip 992 from the Vinery Sales consignment.

Bred by Carol Ricker and sold as a weanling for $100,000, the colt is a half-brother to the stakes winning Killer Bird and Grade 3-placed Stellar Lady, in addition to the dam of stakes winner You Look Cold. Their dam Stellar Baby was a winner herself and is also the dam of four winner from five to race.

Stellar Baby’s own dam produced the stakes winning Galactic Cat and Grade 2 placed Lila Paige among her winners. Lila Paige is the dam of two stakes performers herself, led by the stakes winning Just Google Me. Each of the three dams on this page have at least two stakes performers under their name with stakes winning third dam Stars In My Pocket the dam of stakes winners Batoile and Roujoleur in addition to two stakes performers with Grade 1 winner Paso Real also listed under her name.

A half-brother to KARAKONTIE’s multiple winning Spansive sells with Gainesway as Hip 1180.

They are out of the Bernardini mare Fleur de Cerise, whose dam is the Grade 1 winning Cotton Blossom. A top class racemare, Cotton Blossom produced four winners herself led by the six-time tinner Police Escort. Multiple mares on this page have produced stakes performers with Cotton Blossom seeing two of her half-sisters do exactly that with multiple stakes winner Miss Atlantic City and stakes placed Dixietwostepper produced by those siblings. Dixietwostepper is also the granddam of Grade 1 winner Ceiling Crusher.

The dam of one winner from one to race, Fleur de Cerise produced a full sister to Spansive this year.

The colt is out of winning El Prado mare Elle Belle, who has been a successful broodmare in her second career. The mare’s six winners from eight to race include the stakes winners Christian C, One Li, and Stormin Elle with Stormin Elle providing an update of her own after the catalog was released when her son Pilkington won.

Each of the four dams on this page have produced at least one stakes winner or were a stakes winner themselves. The lone non-stakes producer is second dam Unreal Squeal, who won a stakes and placed third in a pair of Grade 2s before producing four winners.

That 15-time winner also upped his earnings to $470,103 after the catalog was released as one of three winners from three runners out of five-time winner With Sprinkles. With Sprinkes is a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed Layers and out of a full sister to the stakes winning Jellied Madrilene.
