A Grade 1 winning Speightstown son, OLYMPIAD kicks off the 2023 November breeding stock sales with a mare carrying a foal from his first crop selling as Hip 146 at Fasig-Tipton November.
Stuart Morris offers the stakes winning Kim K, who is carrying her second foal on a February 13 cover. She is out of the multiple stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Trip for A.J., who has four runners. Trip For A.J. is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Annabill and six other winners out of two-time winner A.J.’s Hot Shot.
Three of the four dams on the page have produced a stakes winner with the only mare not to accomplish that producing six winners from six to race. One of those stakes winners is also the dam of dual Grade I winner Swept Overboard and stakes winner Valid Symmetry. The foal the mare is carrying is bred on the same Speightstown son x Unbridled’s Song granddaughter cross as three-time Grade 1 winner Jack Christopher and five other stakes performers from 53 runners.
Thirty-two mares in foal to OLYMPIAD are set to sell at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, starting with multiple mares in Book 1.

Grade 3 winner Key Biscayne kicks off the Keeneland portion of the breeding stock sales for OLYMPIAD when selling as Hip 34 with Taylor Made Sales.
A six-time winner, Key Biscayne won or placed in stakes during three different seasons of racing, headlined by a Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes (G3) win last year. Included in her 25 starts were 12 top three finishes overall for $445,758 in earnings before she was retired last fall and bred to OLYMPIAD on a March 19 cover. Key Biscayne is out of a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Pink Poppy and Grade 1-placed Liquidity and to the granddam of multiple Grade 3 winner Warrior’s Charge.
She’s joined in the first session by the Gainesway-offered Arrifana, who sells as Hip 183.
A stakes winner and Grade 3-placed daughter of Curlin, she is a half-sister to Canadian champion and Grade 1 winner Lukes Alley. Also on the page is Grade 1 winner Elusive City and eight other stakes winners under her first three dams. Arrifana’s first two foals are yearlings and weanlings by Into Mischief with the mare carrying this foal on a March 29 cover.
Vinery Sales-offered Oaks Lily is already a proven broodmare with three stakes performers to follow up a race career that saw her place in a stakes. She isn’t the only stakes producer for her dam, with one sister producing Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Romeo and another producing the stakes-placed Real Wild Man.
The dam of five winners from six to race, Oaks Lily produced Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Yarek and stakes winner Dark Oak among her other runners. Still to come for her is the 2-year-old Dark Fury, a yearling Maclean’s Music filly named Baby Grace, and a Justify weanling colt.
Hip 718 offered by Gainesway is a half-sister to three-time Grade 1 winner Jack Christopher, who is bred similarly to the foal this mare is carrying.
Jacksmybrother is also a half-sister to one other winner from three to race out of Rushin No Blushin, who herself is a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Street Boss. Producing power runs in the family with another multiple graded stakes-placed half-sister the dam of Grade 3 winners Bellera and Life Imitates Art. The group under Jacksmybrother’s second dam also includes Grade 3 winner Beyond Blame and Grade 1-placed Loggins among others.
Gainesway also offers Hip 826, TAPIT mare Prosperity carrying a foal bred on an April 5 cover.
A placed runner, Prosperity is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Fulsome and three other stakes performers from the five winners out of Flourish. This is a strong family with Flourish one of five winners out of the multiple stakes winning Viviana, whose other runners include multiple Grade 1 winners Sightseek and Tate Creek and the dam of European champion Special Duty.
Tates Creek’s Group 3 winning son Spirit Ridge gave this page an update after the catalog was released. Now racing in Australia, in the past two months that gelding has raced in four stakes with three top three finishes. Included in those placings was a head loss in the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and neck loss in the Newcastle Gold Cup (G3).
The foal Prosperity is carrying is bred on the same Speightstown son x TAPIT daughter cross as Grade 2 winners Finite and Bonny South with two other stakes performers from the 16 runners.
Tanquerray sells through Gainesway as Hip 919 during the second book of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Winning four times as a racemare, Tanquerray has made her mark as a broodmare as the dam of Spinaway Stakes (G1) winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) runner-up Leave No Trace. That 3-year-old is one of two winners from two runners out of Tanquerray, who also has a 2-year-old full sister to Leave No Trace and two colts by Notional following that juvenile.
Tanquerray is carrying a foal on the same Speightstown son x Nureyev granddaughter cross as the stakes winning Gallery with Speightstown also siring two Grade 1 winners and a Grade 2 winner out of Nureyev granddaughters.
OLYMPIAD has at least one in-foal mare in each of the first seven sessions of the sale, starting with four in Book 1 on November 8. That session starts at 1pm with the rest starting at 10am daily.
