OLYMPIAD Filly Romps in Maiden Victory

OLYMPIAD took his winner count to a full dozen on Wednesday when his daughter Olympic Dreamer registered a runaway 11 ½ length victory in a Parx maiden.

Going off as a heavy favorite in this 5 ½ furlong dirt race after finishing third in two of her first three races, Olympic Dreamer showed she was much the best from the start.

First away from the gate, she didn’t give anyone a chance to get near her with a five-length advantage at the first call. The chestnut continued to build her lead from there with a nine-length lead going into the final furlong.

Despite being geared down by jockey Mychel Sanchez, Olympic Dreamer added 2 ½ more lengths to that total by the line to finish 11 ½ lengths ahead of the runner up and nearly 15 ahead of the third placed finisher.

Olympic Dreamer is trained by Guadalupe Preciado for Nicholas Cammarano Jr. and has now finished in the top three in three of five starts.

The filly bred by Coteau Grove Farms is the second winner from two to race out of the Harlan’s Holiday mare Gottahaveaholiday. That mare’s dam has produced two winners from three to race with those runners led by Gottahaveaholiday’s three-quarter sister and Grade 1 winner Dayoutoftheoffice.

There are Grade 1 winners under each of Olympic Dreamer’s next three dams as well in the form of Here Comes Ben, King Charlemagne, and her own fourth dam Race the Wild Wind. That mare’s many stakes winning descendants include Grade 1 winners Albertus Maximus and Daredevil.

OLYMPIAD’s runners are led by a stakes winner and three stakes performers overall.
