Not Too Late Newest Stakes Winner for MCKINZIE

After placing in three stakes last term, MCKINZIE’s daughter Not Too Late registered a well-deserved stakes win on Sunday with a Maryfield Stakes victory.

The filly broke from the widest post of all in the six-furlong race and was quickly to the lead. She raced as one of three leaders down the backstretch before breaking away from the other two halfway around the turn.

Not Too Late saw others in the stretch try to catch her, but she was determined to get the victory and held off Volleyballprincess by a neck at the line.

This was the third win and seventh top three finish in 13 starts for the Uriah St. Lewis trainee, who races for Trin-Brook Stables.

Bred by Tony Holmes, the filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Mizzen Beau and stakes placed Shootoutthelights as two of the other winners out of the stakes placed Donna Getyourgun. That mare is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner and Grade 2-placed Clearly A Queen.

This is a strong family with 14 stakes performers under her first two dams also including Grade 2 winner Engage, stakes winner British Royalty, and multiple graded stakes placed Commute.

There are a farther five stakes winners under Not Too Late’s third dam.

Donna Getyourgun has an OLYMPIAD yearling to come as well.
