Mizmalice was another Churchill Downs winner for MCKINZIE when the filly broke her maiden in her second start.
Mizmalice was immediately sent to the front by Rafael Bejarano and set a solid pace for much of the 1 1/16-mile dirt race. Bejarano started to hustle her in the stretch and Mizmalice complied and showed a big turn of foot.
The filly added five lengths to the margin she had held at the furlong pole to win by 9 ½ lengths with the third placed runner 14 ¾ lengths behind her as well.

Trained by Doug O’Neill for Iron Horse Racing Stable and T-N-T Equine Holdings, the Scarteen Stud-bred is the first foal out of the stakes-placed Spitefulness.
That mare is a daughter of the Grade 2 winning Ekati’s Phaeton with this family including Grade 1 winner Regally Ready as well.
The sire of a Grade 1 winner and a Grade 1 placed runner from his first crop, MCKINZIE leads both categories in addition to the graded stakes performer category for freshmen as well.
