MCKINZIE Set For More Fireworks at Fasig-Tipton October

MCKINZIE’s first yearlings have been popular at this year’s yearling sales and buyers will have one final chance to purchase one at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale with 26 cataloged.

Taylor Made offers the first MCKINZIE of the sale with Hip 134 out of Belle’s Finale.

Bred by Ramspring Farm, the colt is a half-brother to this year’s three-time Grade 1 winner Up to the Mark among the two winners from three to race out of their dam. Belle’s Finale is a full sister to the stakes winning Zapper Belle, who produced the stakes winning Kabella, and a half-sister to the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Catapult.

Those under Grade 1 winning second dam Capote Belle’s name also include multiple stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed She’sonthewarpath and the stakes winning duo of Bourne In Nixa and Ha Ha Tonka.

Machmer Hall Sales is the consignor for Hip 243, a colt out of Chic.

That mare’s first foal is the winning Forever Lights, who scored her first victory after the catalog was released. Chic is a half-sister to the graded stakes winning duo of Corfu and New York Central in addition to the stakes-placed Runway Ready. Runway Ready is the dam of recent Grade 3-placed Buttercream Babe while another half-sister is the dam of multiple stakes placed Arm Candy.

This colt’s third dam is also the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Peace Rules and multiple stakes winner Wild Fashion with multiple daughters producing stakes winners.

Hip 307 consigned by Eaton Sales is a half-sister to the stakes winning Life Mission and two-time winner Celestial Finish among the three runners out of Crossing the Tape.

Crossing The Tape is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Gabby’s Golden Gal and multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Always a Princess.

Another one of Crossing The Tape’s half-sisters became a Grade 1 producer after the catalog was released when Locked won the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) on his way to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). Second dam Gabriellina Giof is also a multiple stakes winner and Grade 2-placed racemare in addition to her broodmare success.

Hip 472 is offered by Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services out of the winning Denman mare Flashy.

That mare is out of Sheave, whose six winners from eight to race include the Grade I Kentucky Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia. While she was unraced herself, Sheave is a half-sister to four winners, led by stakes winner Taketheodds and multiple stakes placed Mine Not Mine. Three of the four dams on the page have produced at least one stakes winner with many of their daughters doing the same.

Gainesway is the consignor for Hip 497 out of multiple stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Free Flying Soul.

That mare has produced seven winners from her eight to race, led by multiple stakes winner Flying Connection – the winner of this year’s Sunland Park Oaks. Flying Connection has added two more pieces of blacktype to the page since the catalog was released with a second-place finish in the Torrey Pines Stakes (G3) and a win in the Charles Taylor Derby. Another one of the colt’s half-siblings is the nine-time winner Soaring Bird, who also had updated earnings after the catalog was released.

Each of the four dams on the page have either won or placed in a stakes in addition to producing at least one stakes winner.

A half-brother to multiple graded stakes winner and this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) runner-up Two Phil’s is offered by Gainesway as Hip 861, bred by Phillip Sagan.

Two Phil’s is the first foal out of the multiple stakes winning Mia Torri, who also produced Grade 2-placed River Rocks and stakes placed Go Gator Girl Go. Multiple runners under this colt’s second dam have updated earnings since the catalog was released with one of the runners out of Mia Torri’s half-sisters also winning. Three of the four dams on the page have produced stakes winners with the only one not to produce at least once a stakes winner herself.

The colt’s 2-year-old half-brother Financial District was placed in his debut in early September with their dam One Look now having two winners and a placer from three to race. One Look is also the dam of seven-time winner Uno and two-time winner First Impression, who had updated earnings after the catalog was released.

One Look is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes placed Tarantino – who has updated earnings since the catalog was released, Grade 3-placed Before You Know It, and Grade 3-placed Instant Reflex. Instant Reflex also became a stakes producer recently when her juvenile daughter Hard to Justify won the Miss Grillo Stakes (G2) to earn a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1). This family also includes Grade 1 winner Starman, Grade 2 winner King Guillermo, and Grade 3 winners Slow Pace and Funny Duck.

Denali Stud is the consignor of Hip 1199, a filly out of Grade 3 winner Sacristy.

That mare has produced four winners, led by stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Flor de la Mar. The mare also produced Grade 3-placed Catiche to join the other three dams on the page as mares who have produced two or more stakes performers. Sacristy is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winning Mozu Sunflare and to the dam of Grade 1 winning Qafila.

Other Grade 1 winners on the page include Purge, Jersey Girl, and Jersey Town with many of the mares on the page also the dams of stakes producers.

MCKINZIE’s Hip 1385 consigned by Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services had a major update after the catalog was released.

His dam super Savvy became the dam of a stakes winner when Whatchatalkinabout won the New York Breeders’ Futurity as one of three winners from five to race out of the mare. Super Savvy is also out of the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Don’t Forget Gil, who is a half-sister to three-time Grade 1 winner Sweet Reason, stakes winner Battle Girl, and two graded stakes placed runner.

Sweet Reason has also produced stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Diastima while there’s also a stakes winner under Don’t Forget Gil’s half-sister You Laughin.

Hip 1528 consigned by Four Star Sales is a half-sister to two stakes winners from eight winners out of her dam.

A Grade 3-placed runner, Unobstructed View also produced multiple stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Honor Up and the stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Blueridge Traveler in addition to being the granddam of multiple stakes placed More Ice. Each of the four dams on the page have produced at least one stakes performer with three of them producing at least one stakes winner.

This is also a strong winner-producing family outside of the stakes performances with her four dams producing a combined 32 winners.
