MCKINZIE Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Offerings Led by $210,000 Colt

It was another sale where MCKINZIE yearlings were in high demand at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings sale, led by a $210,000 colt.

Offered by Gainesway, the colt was picked up by RT Racing and Cypress Creek as the fourth highest priced offering by a first crop sire.

Bred by Alan Quartucci and Sebastian Varney, his dam is the winning Gio Ponti mare Blank Slate, whose two winners from two to race include the four-time winner Topic Changer. Winners run in the family with Blank Slate one of five winners out of her own multiple graded stakes placed dam Tarrip. Tarrip also produced stakes winner Planchart when going to Gio Ponti with Planchart producing the Grade 2 placed Jimi Hendrix.

There are stakes winners under three of the colt’s four dams on the page with each mare producing at least one stakes winner.

West Bloodstock purchased a $170,000 colt out of Distorted News on behalf of Repole Stable and Team Penney.

Paramount Sales offers the second foal out of the winning Distorted Humor mare bred by Windylea Farm. Out of the multiple graded stakes placed Floating Heart, Distorted News is a half-sister to the stakes winning Executive Chef, who had another win after the catalog was released.

This colt’s third dam is the Grade 1 winning Love Lock, who also produced the multiple stakes winning Love Locket, who produced stakes winning Ghost Locket. Also on this page is multiple graded stakes winner and 20-time winner Stallwalkin’ Dude and stakes winner and eight-time winner Kolonel Kev among others.
