MCKINZIE was the sire of two of the three most expensive offerings during Monday’s session, led by a $475,000 colt purchased by Reeves Thoroughbred Racing from Gainesway.
The Book 4-topping colt is the third out of the stakes-placed Smart Strike mare Ruby Trust, who is one of three winners out of her own Grade 3 winning dam Queen of the Catsle. Each of the four dams on the page are either stakes performers or have produced stakes performers themselves with all three of Ruby Trust’s dams falling in that second category.
This page also includes stakes winner Soloshot among the six listed stakes performers listed.
MCKINIZE was also the sire of the third most expensive offering of the session when West Bloodstock purchased a colt for $400,000 on behalf of Repole Stable.
Also offered by Gainesway, the colt is out of a TAPIT half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Tizway. That mare’s siblings also include the stakes winning Ticket To Seattle and the dam of stakes winner Senator Beck. Ticket to Seattle also produced stakes winner Misty Mauve.
This is a loaded page with Grade 1 winners Will’s Way and Willa on the Move and Grade 1-placed Citidancer also on the page.
MCKINZIE’s others sold in Books 3 and 4 included prices of $385,000, $310,000, $300,000 etc. with his $6,580,000 gross putting him first among all sires and his $164,500 average putting him fourth among stallions with 10 or more sold.
