TAPIT’s graded stakes placed Love You Anyway added a stakes win to her record on Sunday with a win in the Listed Sunkissed S. at Ellis Park.
The one-mile turf race saw the 4-year-old race about three lengths behind the pacesetting Salty Senorita. Racing a few paths wide before grabbing a rail spot racing down the backstretch, she took advantage of a hole opening in front of her entering the stretch to take over the lead.
Those two started fading during that stage of the race, but others made late runs to keep the challenge alive. In the end, Love You Anyway won by three quarters of a length for her third win and seventh top three finish in 11 starts for $384,115 in earnings.
Trained by Rusty Arnold for Bregman Family Racing, the Aaron and Marie Jones-bred was a $450,000 yearling purchase by her racing owners in 2023.
Love You Anyway is one of two stakes performers from two to race out of the Grade 3 winning Princess La Quinta with the other runner being TAPIT’s stakes placed Wine On Tap. Princess La Quinta is one of three stakes performers out of her own dam.
Each of Love You Anyway’s first five dams have produced at least one stakes winner.
Princess La Quinta has a TAPIT 2-year-old colt named Freddy Tauber, who is working regularly at Keeneland, as well.
