Freshman sire Karakontie notched his first Group winner with a determined victory by his two-year-old son Kenzai Warrior in the Horris Hill Stakes (G3) at Newmarket November 2nd.
Now undefeated in two starts, including a debut victory over a mile at Salisbury September 5th, Kenzai Warrior appears a powerful force moving forward.

“I liked the way he galloped out up the hill and he should be a nice Classic prospect for next year,” said jockey Jack Mitchell.

“We’ll put him away for the winter now and depending on how quickly he comes to hand we could go for a trial first, but if not I’d be happy enough to go straight for the Guineas – he’ll tell me,” added trainer Roger Teal.

Kenzai Warrior was bred by John D. Gunther and is trained by Roger Teal for owners Mr. & Mrs. Rae Borras.

Karakontie is also the sire of Tyro Stakes winner Karak, multiple stakes placed Torres Del Paine, stakes-placed In The Present, plus a number of impressive two-year-old maiden winners in the U.S., England, and France.
