Only a few weeks after KARAKONTIE’S multiple stakes winner Spanish Loveaffair added even more blacktype to her page with a second in the Autumn Miss Stakes (G3), she led his Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale offerings.
Sold in Book 1 Doug Cauthen snapped her up for a winning bid of $775,000.
Purchased for the famed Lael Stable, Spanish Loveaffair was consigned by Bluewater Sales. She put multiple updates on the page after the catalogue was released with a win in the Listed Pebbles Stakes at Belmont Park a month before her Autumn Miss Stakes second at Santa Anita.

Spanish Loveaffair has hit the board in over half her starts, including wins in the Sharp Susan Stakes and seconds in the JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (G2) and Regret Stakes (G3). The filly is a well-traveled runner with wins and placings at five different tracks in four different states.
In all, Spanish Loveaffair was the seventh most expensive racing and/or broodmare prospect of the session.
In Book 2, KARAKONTIE was represented by his multiple stakes winning daughter Karak, who won stakes at both two and three. The 4-year-ol caught international attention when purchased by Boomer Bloodstock and Kestrel Thoroughbreds for $280,000.
Offered by Taylor Made, Karak won or placed in three of her five stakes appearances as one of two stakes winners for her dam.
