KARAKONTIE’s Riyadh Way showed he’s the real deal on Saturday with a win in the Hollywood Beach S. at Gulfstream Park one start after his maiden victory.
Racing over five furlongs on turf listed as good, Riyadh Way raced as one of the back markers but was just three lengths off a pressured leader. Despite racing three wide, he had to deal with traffic around the turn when fighting for running room and was ready to run when set free.
Angled five wide late in the turn for a clear run at the leaders, he took full advantage of the clear track. He closed rapidly to take the lead in the final furlong and pull away. By the time he hit the line he was 1 ¾ lengths ahead to take his record to two wins in three starts.
Riyadh Way is trained by Tareq Moubarak for Alwaleed Thamer Alosaimi International Stables with all of his starts coming at Gulfstream.
The Raymond Montgomery-bred is one of two winners from two foals out of a daughter of Grade 3 winner Auntie Joy. That mare produced one winner from one to race herself and is a half-sister to the multiple graded stakes winner Divine Oath.
This family also includes Grade 2 winner Interactif and Grade 3 winner Ocho Ocho Ocho among many other blacktype winners.
Riyadh Way is the fourth juvenile stakes performer for KARAKONTIE in 2026 with the stallion leading all North American sires by percentage of juvenile winners at 56.25%. Four juvenile stakes performers puts him in the top six among all sires as well.
