KARAKONTIE’s None Above The Law Now a Dual Surface Stakes Winner

Gelding wins second straight stakes

It was a second straight stakes victory on Sunday for KARAKONTIE’s None Above The Law who won the Alcatraz Stakes at Golden Gate Fields to register stakes victories on both the track’s turf and synthetic surface.

Racing over a mile on the Golden Gate turf, the Peter Miller trainee was one of the final runners in the field with three clearly behind him down the backstretch. Perfectly positioned by Irving Orozco on the rail, None Above The Law started racing toward the leaders as they raced around the turn. Leaving his inside position, None Above The Law circled nearly all runners in front of him around the turn and had a bulls-eye on the leaders in the stretch.

As they entered the final furlong, None Above The Law had the lead and Orozco let him coast home to win by 1 ½ lengths as the favorite for Downstream Racing.

It was his third win in six starts this year with one other on-the-board finish as well. He has finished top three in six of his 10 career starts.

Bred by Kirk and Judy Robison in California, None Above The Law is one of two winners from two to race out of the stakes winning Legally Blanca. That mare is also a half-sister to Grade 2-placed Bombaguia and is out of stakes-placed Wishful Legacy from the family of Canadian champion and Grade 1-winner Too Late Now.

KARAKONTIE is proving to be an exceptional value sire with the highest percentage of career stakes winner of all third crop sires and a higher percentage of winners than American Pharoah, Constitution, Liam’s Map, ect.
